Repeat Prescriptions

If you take medication on a long-term basis, you can ask for a repeat prescription by ringing Ampleforth & Hovingham Surgeries on 01439 788215. You can also call in and ask at reception.

Alternatively you can order online via the link at the top of this page. New users need to contact the surgery to register and obtain log in details.

We also offer a service for you to book your next months prescription when you collect each prescription. This means that repeat medication can be available routinely every 28 days without the need for you to make a separate call. Please speak to a receptionist if you wish to take part in this scheme.

Dispensary Services

There is an on-site dispensary at Ampleforth Surgery, where patients can have their prescription dispensed. We aim to dispense acute prescriptions immediately from the on-site dispensary.  If the item is not routinely stocked you will be advised when the prescription will be ready.

Prescription Delivery Service

We provide a delivery service, ideal for housebound patients. To use the service you need to arrange this with a dispenser at least three days before the delivery is due (except if on weekly deliveries), and you will need to be in to sign for the prescription.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Practice Nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Please allow three full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and Bank Holidays into account.
